today we walked approximately 5 miles (round trip). this was after i took a few hours to actually get some work done. hopefully i will catch up again. i tend to get a few days behind and end up doing a whole catch up dance. so we walked about 5 miles today and it was fun. the starfishy and i went over to the walmart/traderjoes/game stop shopping center and then walked up to el camino and walked over to castro street. i found a book i had really been wanting. at bookbuyers. (the one in the picture, it was a recommendation from Karsten and I know it's going to be good.) they didn't have the other one but now i know where to look when we go back. i think i deserved to spend $8 on a book. *giggle*. i haven't been mood swinging so much. my body is finally getting used to the lower blood sugar levels. yay. :) on our walks (we've had more than a few lately) i have been on the lookout for coke caps. the little red caps with the codes inside of them. also on the lookout for the code flaps from the 12pks with the codes on them. i've been trying to save enough of the 'my coke rewards' points to get a PSP. i'm about halfway there. so, if any of you drink coke but don't collect the rewards please throw them my way. i'd appreciate it. i found out that the codes are going to come to the Dasani water bottles soon. (as well as a few other coke products) which will be great when we drink water on our walks. hopefully tomorrow our bean bag chair will be here. (the one i won from SDExpo West) they missed us on friday. thought it would be here today and it wasn't. hope you are all having a good week and had a good weekend. take care lovelies *huggles*
Before we went to the SDExpo we had a few errands to run. Which included going to the insurance agent and then killing time at Fry's. The hubby got a few emails while we were running the errands. Hopefully something will pan out of them all. Since he has been looking for a new gig. One of them sounded right up his alley. *crosses fingers and toes and whatever else needs to be crossed*
After Fry's the hubby (starfishy) and I went to the Santa Clara Convention Center for the SDExpo. I had received an email about it with free passes and it sounded interesting. It was really nice. Unfortunately we did not win the Wii nor did we win the iPod. Maybe tomorrow. We want to go back because we didn't get to see everything. We went a bit late and it wasn't open too late after the 'lunch break'. I'm not a software developer but it was interesting to me. I'm looking forward to going back and learning more. The booths all had great demos and info on things that are a bit over my head. The swag was also pretty good. A few tshirts, nalgene bottles, pens, paper pads, canvas bags, rubber ducks, highlighters and sticky pads. The hubby also found a really good book while we were waiting for one of the demos to restart. All in all not a bad con. I like going to cons.

edit: day 2
got up early and did a few things. then we had lunch with our friend mark. the burrito i had was yummy. then we high tailed it out of Mt View to get to Santa Clara. made it just in time for the Wii contest (didn't win) and then had some time to kill because the expo floor was closed. we hit up the booths we didn't manage to get to yesterday. we also dropped in business cards in some other raffles. (hopefully we will have won at least one of them. highly doubtful but one can dream). then we headed off to the 3 raffles near the end of the expo. didnt win one of the 26 packages at the big raffle, didn't win the XBox 360 but I did end up scoring a SourceForge bean bag chair that will be shipped within 2 weeks. After that we walked around and one of the booths was giving away their extra books because it is cheaper than shipping them back. We scored 9 different ones. now all we need to do is write amazon reviews because the guy asked if we liked them to do so. Yesterday we bought a book from them so we got 10 books for the price of 1. (i might get a pic of all the swag to put up later) woot. now it's time to relax at home while the hubby takes some business calls. *crosses fingers things work out well* as for me, i'm going to start filling out some paperwork that needed to be filled out like 3 days ago (only because i would have liked to have had it filled out before i got it *giggle*). then i will play online and stuff.

well, i had a big old long post about the hubby and i taking a walk yesterday to go see happy feet, going to casto street after that and everything that went along with it, but, vox ate it :( it was great. i will give you the condensed readers digest version i guess.
walked approximately 7 miles, saw happy feet, ate at jack in the box because sushi place was closed, ended up walking to castro and going to the bookstore (Bookbuyers) found an ARC of a Clive Barker book for my sister for xmas, found The Dreaming #49 (last one I needed for a full run) and then came home and did some housework. all in all it was a great day yesterday. even though on the way to the movies i bitched at the hubby because of the time constraint to get there for the showing. we made it though. :) so umm yeah, that is the short version.

i get to get up early tomorrow and get ready for it. then we get picked up for the carpool. i'm going to work for a while in the booth for the Install Fest. i will probably be the one handling the paperwork and telling people how long it will take for their turn. *giggle* kind of like i did at the last linux con we went to. i will also get to walk around and look around. i'm going to be on the lookout for a few books and penguins. really im not a collector :P i will be going for the rest of the week. i'm looking forward to it. so if you don't see me around it is because i will be doing actual work. i actually did real work today. all i need to do is type it up and make it look better and pass it on to the accountant. :) i also did lots of laundry for the week. hopefully it will be fun. i will probably update about the show tomorrow. take care :) *gives hugs*
